Welcome to Tanzania.
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your Rising Journey Expeditions representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha.
Take the evening to relax after your journey and prepare for the safari ahead. If you arrive early, optional activities around Arusha can be arranged.
Overnight: Arusha

After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park for your first game drive.
Tarangire is particularly famous for its elephants, baobab trees and seasonal wildlife concentrations around the Tarangire River. During your game drive, look for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, lions, antelopes and numerous bird species.
After lunch, continue exploring the park before heading to your accommodation.
Overnight: Karatu / Tarangire area

After breakfast, head to Lake Manyara National Park for a morning game drive.
The park offers a completely different environment from Tarangire, with groundwater forests, open grasslands, wetlands and the alkaline lake. Wildlife may include elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, baboons, hippos and a wide variety of birds.
After your game drive, continue toward Karatu for the evening.

After breakfast, begin the journey toward Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Your first Serengeti evening gives you the opportunity to experience the sounds and atmosphere of the African wilderness.

Today is dedicated entirely to Serengeti National Park.
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, following the advice of your guide and current wildlife activity. The central Serengeti is known for its resident wildlife and is particularly rewarding for viewing lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and hyenas.
During migration periods, your guide will help position the safari around the movement of the herds.

Spend another full day exploring Serengeti.
Rather than rushing to another destination, you have time to explore different areas of the park and spend longer observing wildlife. Your guide can adapt the day’s route according to sightings, season and your interests.
