Our story

Born in Arusha,
shaped by the bush.

Rising Journey Expeditions began with a simple belief: the best way to experience Tanzania is with people who call it home. Our team grew up between the slopes of Mount Meru and the plains of the Northern Circuit, and we have spent our lives on its roads, trails and riverbanks.

Today we design private journeys for travellers from around the world — big-cat sightings in the Serengeti, sunrise on Kilimanjaro, slow days on Zanzibar’s coast. Every trip starts with a conversation and is built around your dates, your pace and the moments you most want to experience.

We keep things personal. You deal with the same small team from your first message to your farewell at the airport, and our guides, vehicles and partner lodges are chosen because we know them well.

Our driver-guides are the reason guests come back. They read the bush like a book, know where the leopards rest in the heat of the day, and share stories of the people and places along the way.

Every safari runs in a private 4x4 Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof, and every Kilimanjaro climb is led by professional mountain guides with a full support crew. Safety, comfort and good company come first.
